Random video chat with strangers

Choose video matching when you want to meet someone new face to face. MimiChat looks for a partner after you start. You can leave the queue or end the call when you’re ready.

From your camera prompt to the first hello

  1. Get your camera ready

Move anything private out of the frame. Check the camera and microphone selected by your browser, especially if you use a USB camera or headphones.

  2. Enter the video queue

Follow the sign-in or device prompts shown by the app. Wait while the service looks for someone. It may take longer when fewer people are available.

  3. Stay, end the call, or match again

End the call using the in-call control if you need to leave. If you want another conversation, return to matching. A new call may have its own rate.

What to do at each stage of a video match

A camera prompt, a waiting screen, and a connected call ask you to make different decisions. Use the stage you are on to decide what to try next.

Before matching · the wrong camera opens

If your laptop camera opens instead of a USB webcam, leave matching before changing devices. Connect the webcam, choose it in your browser’s camera settings, then reopen the video flow. Check your background while you are still in control of what you share.

Follow the camera checklist

While waiting · nobody has joined

The waiting screen means the service is still looking for a partner. Leave it if you want to switch modes or take a break. If you want to choose a person and see the available call option first, leave the queue and browse online profiles.

Open the online list

During a call · you want to move on

Use the on-screen end control. If you want another match, check the next prompt for the mode, rate, or balance before continuing. If a stranger asks you to share a login code or move off the site, leave and use the reporting controls where available.

Common questions

Can I choose who I get matched with?

Matching looks for an available partner. Open the online list if you would rather pick a person yourself.

Can I use video matching without a microphone?

The video flow can request both devices. Choose text if you want to chat without granting camera or microphone access.

Can I try again after turning down a permission request?

Yes. Open the site permissions in your browser, review the camera and microphone settings, and reopen matching when you are ready.

What if I see a coin prompt?

Read the prompt before continuing. If the rate or balance is unclear, leave the flow and check the details shown in your account.
